What should be known when issuing a crop receipt?
At its core, it is an agreement between an agricultural producer (borrower) and a lender (distributor, supplier of goods and materials, grain trader, bank).
Crop receipts are subject to notarisation and entry into the Register of Crop Receipts.
The loan is repaid through future agricultural production (commodity crop receipts) or proceeds from its sale (financial crop receipts).
The loan is secured by a future crop grown on a land plot identified by a cadastral number.
Land is not a pledge under a crop receipt.
The obligation remains in force until it is fully repaid.
The lender has the right to monitor the future harvest of agricultural products pledged under the crop receipt.
What is the Crop Receipts Register?
The notary enters data on all crop receipts into the Register of Crop Receipts. Access to the Register is free of charge and can be found at this link.
A crop receipt is considered issued from the date of its registration in the Register. The Register of Crop Receipts allows you to check online information about unexecuted crop receipts - in the public domain, as well as those that have been in circulation - upon a separate application to a notary.

IFC's role in developing agro-financing in Ukraine
The International Finance Corporation (IFC, World Bank Group), with the support of the Swiss Confederation, is actively involved in the introduction of innovative financial instruments for agribusiness in Ukraine.
The IFC's Crop Receipts in Ukraine Project (2015-2020) was one of the key drivers behind the introduction of the crop receipts instrument to improve access to finance for agricultural producers. It was implemented in close cooperation with government agencies, the private sector, and international organisations.
У відповідь на запит ринку до модернізації та сек'юритизації інструменту IFC продовжила роботу та запропонувала ще одну новацію – неемісійний цінний папір «аграрні ноти», який запрацював на ринку України з 1 січня 2025 року.
